Description
This lot comprises a large fan shaped art glass vase by Laica, featuring a tapering form mounted on a fluted conical pedestal base. The vase is constructed from amber coloured 24% lead crystal with an exterior acid etched or frosted texture. The decorative motif is executed in a deep blue cameo style, depicting two birds perched amongst stylised floral and leafy branches. The rim and the shoulder of the base are decorated with deep cut, polished oval facets, and the base exhibits vertical hand cut fluting. A clear adhesive label applied to the rim features a red triangle graphic and reads LAICA, Tagliato a Mano, Hand Cut, CRISTALLO, 24% PbO.
Height 56cm.
Condition report:
The vase is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or restorations visible (photo 1). Some minor adhesive residue and light surface wear is present near the manufacturer\'s label on the rim (photo 3). The acid etched surface and the polished facets appear consistent throughout.
