Lot 83:
Description
A pair of black acetate sunglasses featuring oversized butterfly frames and silver-tone metal temple accents. The inner right temple is printed with the words MADE IN ITALY followed by a circled c, the characters CE, and the word POLARIZED. The inner left temple bears the printed characters 5269 c.501/S8 56 followed by a square symbol, 17 135 3P. A small silver-tone metal CC logo is applied to each outer temple near the hinge. Both lenses are etched in the upper corner with a circled c, the name CHANEL, a circled R trademark, and the word POLARIZED. A vertical serial code beginning with BC is etched into the edge of the right lens. The eyewear is accompanied by a black quilted leather-effect hard case which features a silver-tone CC logo to the front left.
Condition report:
The left lens shows significant surface scratches and scuffing, visible in overview and detail images (photo 1 and 3). The right lens displays lighter surface scratches (photo 1). The black acetate frame shows minor fine surface scratches and light wear consistent with use (photo 2). The quilted hard case exhibits significant wear including scuffing, loss of the outer finish, and several indentation marks to the surface (photo 1 and 4).
