Lot 60:
Description
A super king sized upholstered platform bed frame with a distinctive scalloped headboard. The piece is upholstered throughout in a rust orange velvet-style fabric, featuring a fan-shaped headboard with seven radiating vertical channels. The bed base is constructed in two longitudinal sections for transport. The central mattress support area is covered in a cream and charcoal thin-striped ticking fabric. A white fabric label is sewn to the ticking, featuring a central logo of a stylized palm tree above the letters S H E D, below which is printed TROVE in a serif font, and further text reading + THE TROVE.CO.UK + / 99 GOLBORNE RD + LONDON + W105NL. A small white adhesive label is also present on the upper section of the base ticking.
Condition report:
The orange velvet upholstery shows visible surface wear and darkening consistent with use, notably to the tops of the headboard scallops (photo 2) and the lower right-hand corner of the base (photo 3). The striped ticking shows light scuffing and darkened marks from previous mattress placement (photo 1). The two base units appear to align correctly with no visible structural damage.
