Lot 82:
Description
A framed acrylic painting on paper titled Floating Flowers by Janet Patterson. The composition is an abstract work featuring gestural applications of red and white pigment over a saturated blue ground, suggesting floral forms in water. The work is executed on paper with a deckled edge, presented within a wide white mount and a light wood frame under glass. The verso of the frame bears several inscriptions and labels. A white printed label in the upper left corner reads ‘1090 Janet Patterson Floating Flowers Acrylic on paper’. Centred on the backboard in black ink are the handwritten inscriptions ‘JANET PATTERSON’ and ‘FLOATING FLOWERS’, accompanied by a vertical arrow indicating the orientation. A further handwritten inscription at the lower edge reads ’50 x 60 cms’. A small white adhesive label bearing the number ’78’ is located near the centre of the backboard.

Condition report:
The artwork and frame are in good overall condition. Light scuffing is visible to the wooden frame, particularly at the corners (photo 1). The backboard shows scattered minor foxing and staining consistent with age (photo 3). The painting itself appears well-preserved behind glass with no visible tears or losses to the paper.
