Description
A collection of assorted framed pictures and one needlepoint tapestry. The lot includes a framed colour print of The Annunciation by Fra Angelico, depicting the angel Gabriel and the Virgin Mary within an architectural setting and a side panel showing the expulsion from Eden. A reproduction print of the Madonna by Filippo Lippi is housed in a gilt-toned tabernacle frame with twisted columns and a pediment. The lot also includes a framed monochrome engraving on paper featuring winged mythological figures. The lower margin of this engraving bears printed text reading Painted by H. Fuseli to the left and Engraved by M Haughton to the right. The final item is a large framed needlepoint tapestry depicting a dynamic interior scene with multiple figures in medieval-style costume.
Condition report:
The collection appears in good overall condition with some visible wear consistent with age. The large needlepoint tapestry frame shows minor scuffing to the wood edges (photo 2). The Fra Angelico print and frame show no significant visible faults (photo 3). The Lippi reproduction frame has some light surface dust and minor gilding wear to the extremities (photo 4). The Fuseli engraving exhibits slight foxing and even discoloration to the paper consistent with age, particularly visible in the margins (photo 5).
