Lot 1:
Description
This lot comprises a large hand-knotted Persian Nain rug featuring a central medallion design. The rug is constructed with a wool pile and silk highlights on a cotton foundation. The pattern consists of a multi-lobed central medallion in ivory and light blue shades set against a deep navy blue field. The field is decorated with intricate scrolling floral vines, palmettes, and foliate motifs in ivory, tan, and light blue. Four ivory-ground corner spandrels mirror the central floral themes. The main ivory-ground border contains repeating palmettes and vine work, enclosed by multiple narrow guard borders in navy and rust-brown tones. A protective dark brown leather strip is stitched along the reverse of the long edges. The white cotton fringes are present at both ends. The weave density measures approximately 10 knots per linear centimetre (photo 2).

Condition report:
The rug appears in good condition with no visible areas of low-pile wear or thinning across the surface (photo 1). The colours appear consistent with no significant fading visible. The cotton fringes are intact and show no significant fraying or loss (photo 3). The stitched leather edge protectors on the reverse are secure and show no signs of detachment (photo 5).
