Description
A carton containing an assortment of decorative ceramic figures presented in an Oriental style. The group comprises a seated Budai figure in a pale lime-green crackle glaze, a smaller seated Budai in a deep emerald green crackle glaze, a guardian lion (foo dog) in a variegated green glaze with ochre and dark blue accents, and a Buddha bust in a turquoise blue crackle glaze. Each piece is constructed from moulded ceramic and finished with intentional all-over crazing. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible.
Condition report:
The large Budai figure exhibits significant glaze flaking and loss to the chest, shoulders, and knees. The turquoise Buddha bust shows glaze loss to the forehead and a chip to the left shoulder. The small Budai has minor surface rubbing and small areas of glaze loss to the shoulders. The guardian lion is in generally good condition with minor surface wear throughout.
