Lot 148:
Description
A pair of Scalextric 1:32 scale Special Edition Formula 1 slot cars, each housed in its original window display box. The first model is a Jordan Grand Prix car in the yellow livery of the Jordan 197, featuring the distinctive snake-head nose art. Due to period toy advertising restrictions, the livery features s.Oliver and Jordan branding in place of tobacco sponsors, alongside Total, Peugeot, MasterCard, and Startek logos. The car is fitted with rubber Goodyear Eagle tyres and the box includes a printed signature and Peugeot branding. The second model is a Williams FW 20 featuring a red, white, and gold livery with Williams, Castrol, and Sonax sponsor marks. The packaging for the Williams model states that it was produced in a limited number of 5000. Both items feature plastic bodies with rubber tyres and standard slot car internal components. Mechanical functions have not been tested.
Condition report:
Both slot cars appear to be in good, well-preserved condition within their boxes. The Jordan box shows minor shelf wear and some light creasing to the cardboard edges. The Williams box displays light wear to the corners and edges, and retains an original orange retail price sticker on the plastic window. The clear display windows are intact on both examples.
