Description
A pair of heavy cast metal figures, depicting seated Guanyin or courtly deities. The figures are rendered with serene facial expressions and downcast eyes, each wearing an elaborate, high headdress with flame-like and floral elements. They are dressed in ornate robes featuring detailed borders and decorative patterns on the sleeves and skirts, with hands held together at the chest and concealed within textile folds. The figures are seated on rectangular, elevated platform bases with arched openings and four tapered legs. Both pieces are hollow-cast with rough, pitted internal surfaces.
Height: 31 cm.
