Description
A pair of open-back armchairs constructed in a Regency-inspired style. Each chair features a wrap-around crest rail supported by nine vertical spindles, leading to arms terminated with carved volute scroll motifs. The frames are finished in a black lacquer with ochre-painted pin-striping following the contours of the wood. The seats consist of square-inset woven cane panels. The chairs are supported by a characteristic X-form currule base, joined by low-level stretchers for structural stability. These items appear as a matched pair with a pseudo-ebonised decorative finish.
