Description
A pair of Louis XVI style open armchairs, also known as fauteuils, featuring frames constructed from a light-coloured wood with a grey-washed distressed finish. Each chair possesses a rectilinear backrest and curved arm supports decorated with carved leaf motifs. The frames are supported by four fluted tapered legs with turned ring detailing and terminate in simple feet, with decorative carved floral rosettes at the corner blocks.
The chairs are fully upholstered in a cream and taupe contemporary woven fabric featuring a small-scale geometric zigzag pattern. The upholstery includes padded armrests and a loose seat cushion, with edges finished in matching corded piping. y.
