Description
This lot comprises a rectangular porcelain change tray featuring a shallow well and flared sides. The interior is decorated with a formal geometric pattern in gold over a deep burgundy ground, depicting a stylized parterre garden with central quatrefoil and latticework motifs. The upper interior rim is printed with the word HERMES flanked by dots, and the lower rim is printed with the word SELLIER. The underside of the tray is finished with a red suede lining. Centred on this lining is a gold-stamped mark which reads HERMES / PARIS / Made in France / HH.
The tray is housed in a signature orange lidded box with a horse and carriage logo printed to the centre of the lid above the words HERMES / PARIS. A cream-coloured herringbone weave drawstring dust bag is also included, bearing a circular printed logo depicting a horse and carriage above a capital H within a double-circle border.
Condition report:
The porcelain tray is in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or crazing (photo 2). The gilded decoration and red ground remain bright and intact across the interior surface. The red suede base is clean, showing only one minor dark speck near the left edge (photo 3). The presentation box and drawstring dust bag are well-preserved with no significant staining or structural damage visible (photo 1).
