Lot 48:
Description
A framed multimedia work on board featuring a central figure with a Mickey Mouse head wearing a magenta suit, positioned at a bright green door. The background incorporates monochromatic, Victorian-style illustrations of anthropomorphic cats in robes and a green spotted animal. The composition is accented with vibrant confetti-like shapes and a speech bubble containing the text YOU FAKE LIKE THIS BIRKIN. A white painted signature is visible in the lower left corner reading ByMBy e 18. The verso features a central adhesive label with a monkey illustration and black capital letters reading BEYGUMBANO, set against a background of colourful architectural motifs. The work is housed in a textured ornate frame finished in a high-gloss magenta paint, with the reverse sealed with yellow tape and fitted with a wire hanging assembly.
38.5 x 45.5cm.
Condition report:
The frame shows a significant diagonal crack through the mitre joint at the upper-left corner of the reverse (photo 2). There are visible paint splatters in pink and blue on the rear cream-coloured surface of the frame (photo 2). The yellow tape sealing the back is wrinkled and lifting in several places along the inner perimeter. The front of the work and the magenta finish of the frame appear to have no visible faults.
