Description
This lot comprises two pieces of coordinating metal furniture featuring a black powder-coated finish and Art Deco-influenced design. The first item is a freestanding cheval mirror with an arched top, mounted on a pivoting stand. The stand incorporates four vertical supports and a lower wire-grid shelf, set upon four black plastic swivel casters. The second item is a four-tier shelving unit or baker’s rack, constructed with black-finished tubular metal side supports and gold-tone wire shelves. Each side support consists of four vertical rods terminating in a rounded arch, consistent with the Streamline Moderne style. The unit features four open-wire shelves supported by horizontal bracing rods in a matching gold-tone finish.
Condition report:
The cheval mirror frame shows minor scuffs and surface wear to the black finish (photo 1). The mirror glass appears intact with no visible silvering loss or cracks. The plastic casters show light wear consistent with floor use (photo 2). The shelving unit exhibits visible oxidation, pitting, and tarnishing to the gold-tone finish on the wire shelves and horizontal rods throughout (photo 3). The black vertical supports have minor surface scratches. One wire on the third shelf from the top appears slightly bent (photo 3).
