Description
This lot comprises a monochrome aquatint or etched print on paper, titled Dog Suits, presented in a dark wood frame with a wide white mat. The surrealist composition depicts a figure in a heavy, dark canine costume in the act of adjusting the headpiece, set against a background featuring several smaller dogs, including a spotted canine leaping towards an orb. The print features several pencil inscriptions in the lower margin: at the bottom left, the characters A/P are written; the centre is inscribed with the title Dog Suits.; and the bottom right bears the initials TM followed by ’96. These markings indicate the work is an artist’s proof dated to 1996. The print is housed behind glass within a stained wooden frame.

Condition report:
The print appears in good condition within the frame. There are small scattered dark spots, consistent with foxing or debris, visible on the white matting, notably in the lower-left corner and across the top edge (photo 1). The wooden frame shows minor surface scuffs and light wear to the edges (photo 1).
