Description
Two Jonathan Adler ceramic figurines from the Menagerie collection. The first is a reclining unicorn in white bisque porcelain, featuring a textured mane, tail, and horn. The base bears a moulded circular mark reading ‘JONATHAN ADLER’ and an adhesive label with a blue floral emblem reading ‘JONATHAN ADLER HANDMADE IN CHINA’ (photo 5). The second piece is a curved ceramic sculpture with a metallic gold glaze, decorated with a series of embossed circular indentations. The underside is stamped in black with the ‘JONATHAN [A] ADLER’ maker’s mark (photo 3).
Condition report:
The white unicorn sculpture shows several grey surface marks and scuffs to its side (photo 4) and light dust residue within the textured grooves of the mane and horn (photo 4). The gold-glazed figurine shows minor shelf wear to the unglazed portion of the base (photo 3), but otherwise exhibits no visible chips, cracks, or losses to the metallic finish.
