Description
A sleigh bed frame with a matching storage bench, constructed in the French Empire style. The set features a warm, medium-toned finish with figured wood grain patterns across the panels and scrolled elements. The bed frame comprises a headboard and footboard with classic scrolled top rails and integrated block feet, two curved wooden side rails with dowel pins for assembly, and a wooden support rail. The matching storage bench features identical scrolled ends and a central seat section with a hinged lid opening to an internal compartment, resting on a bracket-foot plinth base.
Metal bed bolts and attachment brackets are fitted to the inner lower sections of the bed panels. Requires fixings for complete assembly.
Condition report:
The furniture exhibits surface scratches and minor scuffs consistent with use, notably on the flat panels of the side rails (photo 4) and the front of the storage bench (photo 3). Some oxidation is visible on the metal attachment hardware (photo 2), though the components appear functional. The pieces appear structurally sound, although the bed is currently in a disassembled state.
