Description
A 9-carat yellow gold and agate cameo brooch, also functioning as a pendant, featuring a detailed carving of a cat face. The oval centerpiece is a blue layered agate cameo depicting a long-haired cat, set within a yellow gold frame with a twisted wire inner border and a scalloped outer edge. The reverse is fitted with a horizontal pin and a safety revolver clasp, with a small suspension bail at the top. The suspension ring bears a set of impressed marks including a crown, the fineness mark 375, a Birmingham anchor, and a date letter in a square shield.
Total Approx. Weight 11.6g.
Condition report:
The blue agate cameo appears free from significant chips, cracks, or scratches (photo 1). The 9-carat gold frame shows light surface wear and minor tarnishing consistent with handling (photo 2). The pin and safety revolver clasp mechanism are functional (photo 2).
