Description
This lot comprises a 1 Litre bottle of Bunnahabhain 12 year old single Islay malt Scotch whisky with its original presentation canister. The spirit was distilled and bottled by The Bunnahabhain Distillery Company on the Isle of Islay, Scotland. The bottle is sealed with an original black foil capsule and shows a fill level at the high shoulder. Labels on both the bottle and the canister feature a central illustration of a mariner at a ship’s wheel above the text Westering Home… and aged 12 years. The rear label includes a phonetic pronunciation guide reading (Bū-na-ha-venn) and an illustration of a family group, accompanied by the lyrics of the ballad Westering Home. The packaging consists of a black and gold cylindrical canister with red rope handles. The labels identify the contents as 43% vol. and 1 Litre. Based on the branding and bottle size, this example dates to the 1980s.
Condition report:
The bottle appears in good condition with the original seal intact. The fill level is consistent with a high shoulder/base of neck level. The labels exhibit minor rubbing and light shelf wear. The original presentation canister shows noticeable storage wear, including scuffs to the black finish and areas of oxidation and pitting to the gold-coloured metal base rim.
