Lot 39:
Description
This lot comprises a hand-knotted wool carpet. The carpet features a central multi-lobed ivory-ground medallion decorated with scrolling vines and floral sprays, surrounded by a coral pink field with dense floral motifs. The spandrels and primary border are navy blue, with the primary border displaying a repeating Shah Abbas floral pattern and the spandrels echoing the ivory and floral design of the medallion. The border is further defined by multiple ivory and coral guard stripes. The carpet is constructed with a wool pile on a cotton warp and weft foundation. The reverse displays a fine weave measuring approximately 15 knots per linear inch (photo 3). Short white cotton fringes are present at both ends.

Condition report:
The carpet shows no significant signs of wear and the pile remains even throughout. The reverse displays a tight and consistent weave (photo 3). Minor surface pilling and occasional loose threads are visible in the floral sections (photo 2). The cotton fringes are intact and relatively clean (photo 1).
