Description
This lot comprises a Technics SL-1200MK2 direct drive turntable. The unit features a die-cast aluminium upper cabinet with a heavy rubberised base. Controls include a rotary power dial marked off and on, a large rectangular start stop button, and push-button speed selectors for 33 and 45 RPM. A vertical pitch adj. slider is graduated from +8 to -8 with a green indicator light. The platter edge features a strobe pattern corresponding to markings for +6, 3.3, 0 %, and -3.3 located beside the power switch.
The S-shaped tonearm assembly includes a height adjustment ring graduated from 0 to 6 with a lock lever, an anti-skating dial graduated from 0 to 3, and a counterweight with tracking force markings showing 0, 0.5, 1, and 1.5. The unit is fitted with a Technics headshell and an attached cartridge (brand not legible,). A black felt slipmat with a white Technics logo is present (no original rubber platter mat present,). Integrated power and RCA phono cables are attached (no clear plastic dust cover present,).
Condition report:
The silver-finished plinth shows scuffs, scratches, and edge wear (photos 1 and 2). Significant dust accumulation is visible across all surfaces, including the platter, tonearm assembly, and control interface (photos 3 and 4). Surface grime and light oxidation are present on the tonearm height adjustment ring and gimbal assembly (photo 4). The red power indicator and green quartz lock light are both illuminated when connected to power (photo 1 and photo 3). Integrated cables show signs of wear and tangling (photo 1). Mechanical operation, tracking, and audio output are untested.
