Description
A large Persian Nain rug. The piece features a traditional Lechak-Toranj layout, comprising a central multi-lobed floral medallion and matching corner spandrels. The ivory field is decorated with intricate scrolling islimi vine-work, floral sprays, and Shah Abbasi palmettes. The design is framed by a wide main border of repeating floral motifs and multiple guard stripes. The pile is constructed from fine wool with silk highlights used to define the floral outlines, all woven onto a cotton foundation.
Approx. Dimensions 300 cm x 200 cm.
Condition report:
The carpet is in generally good structural condition with the fringe remaining intact. There are visible areas of surface soiling and localized brownish staining within the ivory field, particularly to the right of the central medallion. Professional cleaning would be recommended.
