Description
A vintage gentleman’s wristwatch by Garrard. The watch features a hallmarked 9ct yellow gold case produced by David Shackman & Sons (DS&S). The interior case back is stamped with the maker’s mark DS&S, the reference number 8831, and full British hallmarks for London, including the crown symbol, .375 gold purity mark, leopard’s head assay mark, and the date letter q corresponding to 1971. The silvered dial features a sunburst finish with applied gilt baton hour markers and matching hands, signed GARRARD and SWISS MOVEMENT. The manual wind mechanical movement is signed GARRARD and SWISS. The exterior case back is finished with an engraved script monogram. The watch is presented on a non-original replacement tan leather strap with cream contrast stitching and a gold-toned pin buckle.

Condition report:
The watch is in used vintage condition showing wear consistent with its age. The 9ct gold case exhibits surface scratches, minor indentations, and areas of tarnish. The acrylic crystal has several visible scratches. The silvered dial shows light signs of aging and minor spotting. The manual wind movement appears clean; however, the working status and timekeeping accuracy have not been tested. The tan leather strap is a modern replacement showing light wear.
