Description

This lot comprises a large and diverse collection of natural history specimens, polished semi-precious stones, and decorative resin objects, presented in two green plastic crates. The collection features a wide variety of minerals in both rough and worked forms. Included among the specimens are several amethyst druse clusters of varying violet shades, a large rough green and yellow calcite or fluorite cluster, and multiple pieces of polished labradorite displaying characteristic blue and gold labradorescence. The polished spheres feature a large blue and white sodalite sphere with orange-brown inclusions, a large clear quartz sphere, a green fluorite sphere, and smaller spheres of lapis lazuli, red jasper, and tiger’s eye. Other worked stones include lapis lazuli points and polished slabs, a slice of banded malachite, and a polished pyrite cube. Decorative items include a green hippopotamus figurine with black banding, carved in the manner of malachite, and a small blue stone star. A large clear plastic bag contains a quantity of loose tumbled stones, including rose quartz, amethyst, and carnelian, alongside beaded tiger’s eye bracelets and a small circular container of mixed stone and glass beads. The collection is completed by two substantial resin composite orgonite pieces. These consist of a large four-sided pyramid in translucent orange-brown resin, densely filled with copper-coloured metallic shavings, and a large cylindrical block of grey-clear resin containing gold and silver-toned metallic shavings and embedded copper wire coils.

Condition report:

The collection is in good overall condition. The natural mineral specimens show typical internal inclusions, fractures, and surface textures inherent to their natural formation. Some polished items exhibit minor superficial scratches and wear consistent with handling. The resin composite items show light surface scuffing and minor imperfections from the casting process. The plastic crates and bags show typical signs of wear but remain intact.
