Description
A traditional Wing Chun martial arts training dummy, commonly referred to as a Muk Yan Jong. The apparatus features a solid cylindrical wooden trunk with a polished amber-toned finish. The trunk is fitted with three protruding wooden arms and a single bent wooden leg, all of which are secured through the main body using traditional joinery. The entire assembly is mounted onto a square wooden floor frame base. This item is designed for the practice of Wing Chun Kung Fu techniques, simulating an opponent’s form for strike and block coordination.
Condition report:
The dummy shows significant signs of age and intensive use. There are prominent vertical splits running the length of the main timber trunk, several of which have been stabilised with a yellow filler material. General surface scuffing, impact marks, and indentations are visible throughout the arms, leg, and body. The wooden floor base displays heavy wear, including loss of finish and abrasions to the timber.
