Description
A large collection of assorted luxury textiles and dressmaking fabrics, including pieces characteristic of high-end traditional and ceremonial attire. The lot features a variety of textures and techniques, notably a significant length of dark navy blue velvet decorated with an ornate gold and yellow floral scroll pattern in the baroque style. Also included is a black fabric with dense embroidery of four-petal green flowers with orange centres, and a light mint green textile featuring stylized floral embroidery in peach and silver tones, accented with small multi-coloured rhinestones. Other prominent pieces comprise a bright green fabric with gold metallic zigzag patterns bearing the Jubilee brand mark, and a vibrant yellow fabric with gold-toned floral patterns bearing the Edelweiss brand mark and star motif. The collection includes various embroidered lace and mesh fabrics, some with pearl-like embellishments or crystal accents, along with textiles resembling silk and fabrics in the style of sarees. A lime green piece features a repetitive geometric triangular pattern with inset crystals. The lot represents a diverse range of materials suitable for ceremonial wear, such as West African lace or Aso Ebi.
Condition report:
The fabrics appear to be in good overall condition, comprising unused lengths and remnants. The pieces are stored folded within cardboard boxes. No individual measurements or fibre compositions have been tested.
