Description
A large collection of assorted decorative textiles and formal dress fabrics, presented in six cartons. The lot features a variety of ornate materials suitable for celebratory dressmaking and African fashion, including several styles of lace and embroidered voile. The collection includes a length of heavy bright orange floral guipure-style lace with sequin embellishments, a white floral net lace, and a yellow cotton fabric with a repeating leaf-shaped eyelet pattern. Also present is a vibrant green fabric with a metallic gold grid and embroidered turquoise floral motifs, a lime green satin-finish voile with a repeating metallic gold leaf design, and a sheer lime green fabric featuring swirling floral embroidery and silver-coloured sequins. One fabric features a bold geometric design of brown and beige triangles with wavy internal detailing and small silver-coloured studs. The textiles are constructed from materials including cotton, voile, tulle, and synthetic blends, often incorporating metallic threads and sequin work. No manufacturer marks or brand labels are visible on the fabrics.
Condition report:
The fabrics generally appear to be in good, unused condition with vibrant colours and intact embroidery. Typical storage creasing and minor fraying at the cut edges are present across the lot. One piece of orange lace features a partially attached zipper, suggesting it may be a semi-constructed garment component.
