Description
A pair of large scale table lamps featuring bases modelled as classical twin-handled urns. Each base is constructed from cast composite or plaster with a heavily distressed weathered stone-effect finish in shades of grey and cream. The urns feature egg-and-dart style rims, acanthus leaf moulding to the necks and lower bodies, and scroll handles, each set upon a fluted pedestal and stepped square plinth. The lamps are fitted with two large tapered fabric shades in a textured linen-effect cream finish. Each lamp is wired with a brown twisted-fabric flex terminating in a UK 3-pin plug (BS 1363).
Approx height: 103 cm.
Condition report:
The finish is intentionally distressed throughout with visible pitting, chips, and uneven colouration as part of the design (photo 1). The fabric shades show minor crushing at the top rims (photo 1).
