Description
This lot comprises a dining or library table and a pair of matching side chairs, all featuring a cream-painted and deliberately distressed finish. The table is constructed with a rectangular top displaying a mottled brown parchment or faux-leather effect finish. It stands on four square tapered legs with decorative collars, joined by a shaped X-stretcher. The stretcher features sweeping inward-curving members meeting at a central circular boss topped with a turned finial, terminating in flattened bun feet. The pair of side chairs feature openwork rectangular backs with a geometric Chinese Chippendale style fretwork pattern of interlocking diamonds and squares. The seats are padded and upholstered in a light tan herringbone fabric, supported by square legs with simple peripheral stretchers.
