Description
A set of salon furniture comprising a pair of armchairs and a matching wall console table. The fauteuils are constructed in the Louis XV style with cabriole legs, floral carved cresting rails, and padded armrests. The frames are finished in a distressed grey paint. Each chair is upholstered in a pale cream satin fabric featuring a vertical foliate pattern, finished with yellow piping to the borders. The demi-lune console table is supported by three fluted and tapered legs, featuring a central carved floral medallion on the apron within a beaded border. The table is finished in a distressed grey paint.
Condition report:
The console table top exhibits significant staining, including a large dark circular mark to the centre and several smaller spots (photo 3). There are visible areas of paint loss and scuffing along the front edge of the table apron (photo 2) and top surface (photo 3). The chairs show wear to the painted finish consistent with the distressed style. The upholstery on the chair seats appears loose and shows light soiling and discolouration, particularly along the front edges (photo 4). No maker\'s marks or labels are visible on any of the pieces.
