Lot 79:
Description
A pair of Linda Farrow oversized cat-eye sunglasses featuring thick-rimmed marbled cream acetate frames with faint pink veining. The frames are accented with three small gold-toned pins at the top corners and feature wide temples with circular gold-toned metal cut-out hardware. The lenses are a gradient brown tint. The interior left arm is printed with the maker’s name LINDA FARROW. The interior right arm is printed with 56 [square symbol] 20-140, 6226, LFL/1049/7, and the model name Dunaway. The circular gold-toned hardware on the exterior temples is inscribed LINDA FARROW LONDON 1970. The interior temple tips are marked CE CAT NO. 1 on one side and HANDMADE IN JAPAN on the other. The sunglasses are accompanied by a black velvet-covered hard-shell protective case.
Condition report:
The frames show visible surface wear and minor scuffing consistent with use. There is a noticeable pink or reddish smudge on the top edge of the right frame (photo 3) and the top of the left temple (photo 4 and 5). The lenses show minor surface dust but no deep scratches are visible in the photographs. The velvet case shows significant lint and fiber accumulation (photo 1).
