Lot 51:
Description
A pair of polished stainless steel decorative bowls featuring organic, fluid forms. One bowl presents as a deep, asymmetrical cradle or leaf shape, while the second is an undulating, elongated biomorphic form. The underside of the undulating bowl features a central printed white mark reading GEORG JENSEN DENMARK in capital letters. The pieces are constructed from formed steel with a high-shine mirror finish. The design is consistent with mid-to-late 20th-century Scandinavian metalware.
Condition report:
Both bowls exhibit widespread and significant surface scratching and scuffing to the interior and exterior polished surfaces, consistent with heavy domestic use (photo 1). The underside of the base shows dense, multi-directional scratching and some white residue or oxidation marks within the circular foot ring (photo 2). The structural forms remain intact with no visible dents, warping, or losses.
