Lot 29:
Description
This lot comprises a large-scale contemporary abstract work executed in heavy impasto mixed media on a stretched canvas support. The composition features a monochromatic white palette, with the visual interest derived entirely from high-relief textural elements. The medium is applied in sweeping gestural strokes, curls, and peaks that create a sense of organic movement across the surface. The brushwork and palette knife marks are highly pronounced throughout, casting shadows that provide depth to the single-tone surface. The textured medium continues around the edges of the canvas. In the lower-left corner, there is an incised mark consisting of two vertical lines crossed by a horizontal stroke, resembling a stylised H; the mark is not legible as a name or signature.
150 x 100cm.
Condition report:
The work appears to be in good condition overall. The heavily textured surface shows no visible signs of paint loss, cracking, or craquelure across the relief elements. The deep crevices within the impasto are clear of significant dust accumulation. The canvas remains taut on the stretcher bars, and the edges are well-preserved where the medium extends around the sides. No visible repairs or restoration are evident in the photographs.
