Description
A collection of assorted Spanish glazed porcelain figurines comprising examples from the Lladró and Nao factories. The lot includes a group figurine depicting a boy and girl seated on a grassy mound, with the girl petting a sleeping beagle-type dog; the underside features a blue printed mark reading ‘LLADRÓ’ beneath a bellflower symbol, ‘HAND MADE IN SPAIN’, and ‘© DAISA’, with incised marks ‘G-11 S’ and ‘Y 4’. Also included is a figurine of a yawning boy in a white nightshirt with arms raised; the base bears a blue printed mark reading ‘LLADRÓ’ with the bellflower symbol, ‘HAND MADE IN SPAIN’, and ‘© DAISA’, alongside incised marks ‘C-2 J’ and ‘1 0’. The third piece is a seated angel playing a lute or mandolin, featuring a blue printed mark ‘LLADRÓ’, ‘HAND MADE IN SPAIN’, and incised ‘N-1 Z’. The final piece is a standing figure of the Virgin Mary in a blue hooded robe with hands clasped in prayer; the base displays a brown printed mark ‘NAO’, ‘HAND MADE IN SPAIN’, and an incised ‘W’ and ‘3’.
Condition report:
The collection appears to be in good condition overall. There are no visible chips, cracks, or restorations apparent to the delicate porcelain glazes or extremities of any figurine (photos 1, 4, and 6). The printed backstamps and incised marks on the undersides are clear and well-preserved (photos 3, 5, and 7).
