Description
A mixed media work on paper titled Praxis #1, presented in a glazed gilt frame with a wide off-white mount. The composition features an abstract arrangement of textures including metallic foil highlights in silver and gold tones, a pale blue wash, and a lower section incorporating a red and dark blue grid-like textile texture. The piece is executed on a heavily textured, deckle-edged handmade paper support. The work features a series of calligraphic purple lines and various layered impasto elements.
The lower margin is inscribed in pencil with the edition number 224/250 to the left, the title Prana #1 to the centre, and the signature D. Dodsworth to the right. The frame is a traditional gilt wood moulding with a stepped profile.
Frame size 36 x 41.5 cm.
Condition report:
The artwork appears to be in good overall condition with no visible signs of foxing, damp staining, or light damage to the paper support (photo 1). The gilt frame shows several small losses to the gilding and minor surface abrasions, particularly at the corners and along the lower edge (photo 1). The glazing is intact and the mount is free from visible marks or discolouration.
