Description
This lot comprises one Makita LW1400 portable cut-off saw. The tool features a blue plastic motor housing and blade guard mounted to a grey metal base equipped with a quick-release vice. The blade guard is printed with a large white Makita logo and bears the handwritten names ALEX and OMEGA 99 in black permanent marker. An adhesive manufacturer’s plate on the motor housing identifies the unit as a Makita LW1400, dated January 2017. The technical specifications listed on the plate include a 355mm blade diameter, 110V power supply, 15A current draw, and 1650W power rating with a no-load speed of 3800rpm. The machine is fitted with a circular blade marked SPECIALIZED FOR METAL CUTTING and includes a heavy-duty power cable terminated with a yellow 110V industrial plug. The manufacturer’s plate includes the address Makita, Jan-Baptist Vinkstraat 2, 3070, Belgium and states the item was Made in China. Several safety and compliance symbols are present, including the CE mark, ear protection and manual instruction icons, the double insulation square-in-square symbol, and a crossed-out wheelie bin logo.
Condition report:
The saw is in well-used condition, showing heavy scuffs and permanent marker writing across the blue plastic housing and guard (photo 2). The metal base exhibits significant paint loss, deep surface scratches, and areas of light surface oxidation (photo 1). The fitted metal-cutting blade shows signs of use but remains intact. The power cord and plug are complete without visible damage to the outer insulation. The mechanical and electrical working status of the tool is untested.
