Description
A lot comprising a 70cl bottle of cognac in a presentation box.
The bottle is Hine Rare Fine Champagne Cognac produced by Thomas Hine and Co of Jarnac, France. The main label bears the Royal Warrant for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and features a red stag graphic above the text ‘HINE RARE’. The right-hand panel of the label states ‘COGNAC FINE CHAMPAGNE APPELLATION COGNAC FINE CHAMPAGNE CONTRÔLÉE DOUBLE DISTILLATION WITH THE LEES AGED IN LIGHT-TOASTED FINE-GRAINED OAK BARRELS’. A back label identifies the importer as ‘Berry Bros & Rudd 3 St. James’s Street, London SW1A 1EG’ and includes a pink UK duty stamp with the code ‘A50000001258’. The side of the glass base has an embossed script signature reading ‘Hine’, while the bottom is embossed with ’70cl’ and the number ‘308’. The red and white cardboard presentation box features a large black stag graphic and repeats the producer and product details. The alcohol content is 40% vol.
Condition report:
The bottle is in excellent condition with no visible chips or cracks to the glass. The fill level is into the neck. Labels are clean and fully intact. The wooden-topped cork closure remains sealed. The presentation box shows minor shelf wear with light scuffing to the edges. A small tear is visible on the front red panel near the left edge (photo 1).
