Description
A single bottle of Lagavulin Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky in a cardboard presentation carton. The 70cl bottle is labelled as 48% vol and aged 8 years. The producer is Lagavulin Distillery, Port Ellen, Isle of Islay, established 1816. The labelling and carton include a sailboat motif above text reading LAGAVULIN DISTILLERY ESTD 1816 ISLA and a red facsimile signature for Mackie & Co. The main text reads LAGAVULIN ISLAY SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY AGED 8 YEARS. The carton and bottle label feature a quote reading No. 36 – We journeyed through the village of Lagavulin, The Mill in the Valley, and no prettier or more romantic spot could have been chosen for a distillery. We tasted some eight years old before starting, which was Exceptionally fine. A portrait of Alfred Barnard 1886 is printed on the base of the carton. The bottle glass shoulders are embossed with 1816 and ISLAY.
Condition report:
The bottle is sealed with the black capsule intact. The fill level is into the neck. The main and neck labels are in excellent condition. The presentation carton shows a prominent vertical crease on the front panel (photo 1) and minor shelf wear to the edges and corners.
