Description
An assortment of British numismatic items and memorabilia. The lot comprises an Esso folder titled 100 Years of Football The story of the FA Cup Winners 1872-1972 containing a collection of assorted white metal medals depicting club crests, including Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool, and a central gold-tone centenary medal. The lot includes a Bank of England five pound note signed by J. B. Page, two Bank of England one pound notes signed by J. B. Page and D. H. Somerset respectively, and a Royal Bank of Scotland one pound note. There are several Royal Mint commemorative two pound coins in card folders for Dorchester cigarettes, including the 1986 Commonwealth Games, 1989 Bill of Rights, 1994 Bank of England Tercentenary, and 1995 Second World War Peace. Further items feature a 1983 Royal Mint one pound coin in a Ty-Phoo pack, a 1997 five pound crown, and commemorative crowns for the 1977 Silver Jubilee, 1980 Queen Mother’s 80th Birthday, and 1981 Royal Wedding. The collection also contains a Duckhams commemorative medal, a World Savers medal, a York Minster South Transept Restored medal, and a small tin containing assorted circulated coinage.
