Description
A carton containing a collection of assorted unframed art prints by the artist Kolongi, published by Kolongi Productions between 2002 and 2004. The lot comprises various subjects celebrating Black heritage, culture, and history, including composite portraits of historical figures and icons of the hip-hop industry.
The collection features various titles including Ancestors in Conference, Sisters in Conference, Hip Hop Culture, Hip Hop Heaven 2, My Queen, Remember The Times, Harriet Tubman, The Underground Railroad, and Mother’s Love. Spiritual and romantic scenes are also present, titled Footprints, Moonlight Love, You Deserve The World, Future Generation, and Deep Love. Each print bears a printed signature reading Kolongi within the image. A significant number of the sheets are further enhanced with a hand-applied artist signature in gold-coloured ink transcribed as Kolongi 2004 one love.
Condition report:
The prints exhibit signs of wear consistent with bulk storage and handling, with visible bumping and wear to the corners and edges throughout the collection (Photo 1, Photo 2, and Photo 7). Occasional light handling creases and minor undulation are present to the sheet margins (Photo 16). The printed surfaces remain generally clean with vibrant colours and no evidence of significant foxing, toning, or moisture damage.
