Description
An Ethos 8400 multi-function electrical installation tester is designed for verifying loop impedance, RCD performance, insulation resistance, and continuity. The main unit faceplate is printed with the text ETHOS 8400 / LOOP · RCD · INSULATION · CONTINUITY / MULTI FUNCTION TESTER and features a blue and white adhesive sticker reading POLARITY PHASE TEST. The interface includes a central rotary dial for function selection, with selectable insulation test voltages of 250V, 500V, and 1000V. RCD testing ranges include 30mA with an auto-test function, 100mA, 300mA, and 500mA for both General and Selective type devices. The unit also provides settings for No Trip and High Current loop testing. Safety and compliance markings visible on the faceplate include the CE mark, the WEEE symbol, and a double insulation square-in-square symbol. The tester is accompanied by an assortment of test leads, probes, and alligator clips in red, green, blue, brown, and black. A red probe is marked CAT III 600V. The set is contained within a yellow hard-shell plastic carrying case with a black handle, which bears the printed black text ETHOS beside a square logo, and the phrase TRIED. TESTED. TRUSTED. printed in white below.
