Lot 35:
Description
This lot comprises two high-performance shortboard surfboards manufactured by Pukas/Lorentz Shapes and Haydenshapes.
The first surfboard is a Pukas x Lorentz Shapes shortboard. It features a white deck with a visible central wooden stringer and black rails. The underside is finished in a dark forest green. The board is equipped with a five-fin box configuration compatible with Futures fins and includes a circular target-patterned traction pad in orange, white, and black on the tail. Marks include the word PUKAS in stylized outlined letters on the deck and in white stylized letters on the underside. A printed logo on the lower deck and underside depicts two checkered flags and a central skull above the words LORENTZ SHAPES. The underside also features a circular mark containing the number 69 and the word PRO.
The second surfboard is a Haydenshapes Holy Grail model. It is constructed using Futureflex technology, consisting of an EPS core with parabolic carbon fibre rails. The board has a cream-coloured deck and underside, accented by black carbon fibre rails and a black centre stringer tape. It features a five-fin box configuration compatible with FCS II fins. A black traction pad with a white hexagonal logo is applied to the tail. The branding HAYDENSHAPES is repeated along the length of the black stringer tape on both the deck and underside. The words holy grail are printed in a lowercase serif font on the underside. A logo featuring a stylized f and the word futureflex is present near the rails. A printed manufacturer label reads GLOBAL SURF INDUSTRIES DESIGNED AND DEVELOPED IN AUSTRALIA AND THE USA MADE IN THAILAND. Handwritten dimensions are visible in white ink near the tail on the underside.
Dimensions (from Haydenshapes board): 6 feet 1 inch x 20 1/2 inches x 2 3/4 inches
Volume (from Haydenshapes board): 34.97 litres.
Condition report:
The Pukas Lorentz board shows heavy surfboard wax residue on the deck. There is a significant structural ding at the tip of the nose where the fibreglass is chipped and cracked, exposing the foam core. General scuffing and surface scratches are present on the forest green underside. The Haydenshapes board shows moderate wax residue on the deck and minor cosmetic scuffs and marks consistent with regular use on its surface. Neither surfboard includes fins.
