Description
This lot comprises a single bottle of champagne produced in Aÿ, France. The 75cl bottle of Bollinger Special Cuvée Brut is a non-vintage blend with an alcohol by volume of 12%. The bottle is finished with a gold foil neck printed vertically in black with the maker’s name. A gold neck label features a black shield-shaped border and is printed with the text BOLLINGER MAISON FONDÉE EN 1829 AY FRANCE below a five-pointed star.
The black shoulder label displays a Royal Coat of Arms and the text BY APPOINTMENT TO H.M. QUEEN ELIZABETH II PURVEYORS OF CHAMPAGNE CHAMPAGNE BOLLINGER S.A. The main body label is cream-coloured paper and carries the text CHAMPAGNE BOLLINGER SPECIAL CUVÉE, 75 cl – 12% vol, and PRODUCE OF FRANCE. The white back label provides descriptive text in English regarding the production of the cuvée and identifies the UK importer as Mentzendorff & Co Ltd., London. The label also features the code 1HABCET17245, a barcode, and a QR code.
Condition report:
The bottle is in excellent commercial condition. The gold foil capsule remains unopened and is free from tears or significant abrasions (photo 1). The green glass bottle is free from chips or cracks. The paper labels are clean, securely adhered, and show no signs of staining or peeling (photo 2).
