Description
A vintage Tri-ang glider style rocking horse manufactured in Great Britain. This toy features a hollow-moulded black plastic horse body suspended by four metal swing bars within a stationary, tubular metal frame. The horse body is decorated with painted red and white details to the eyes, nostrils, and ears. It is equipped with two white plastic grip handles on the head and a black webbing bridle. The horse is fitted with a two-tone saddle featuring a brown textured fabric top and red vinyl side panels, complete with black webbing straps and metal stirrups. The tubular metal frame is finished in black paint. An original adhesive label is present on one of the horizontal frame bars, featuring the Tri-ang logo in red script set against a background of red, white, and blue radiating stripes. The label is inscribed Made in Great Britain at the top and Please Oil Frequently at the bottom.
Condition report:
The item is in used vintage condition. The plastic body shows various surface scuffs, scratches, and minor play wear consistent with age. Rubbing is visible on the painted details of the face. The metal frame has areas of paint loss, particularly on the lower rails and points of contact with the floor. The original Tri-ang label is present but shows significant wear, including tearing and loss to the edges. The fabric and vinyl components appear intact but show some fading and accumulation of dust. All mechanical parts appear complete and functional.
