Description
A set of vintage home weightlifting equipment manufactured by York Barbell. The collection features vinyl-covered weight plates in a muted gold-tone colour. The set includes one long steel barbell and two steel dumbbell bars, all featuring knurled grip sections for improved traction. The weight plates are secured by six red plastic quick-release collars. Each plate bears embossed manufacturer markings and weight denominations. Large plates are marked YORK BARBELL, 4.5 KG APPROX, 10 LB APPROX, and MADE IN CANADA. Medium plates are marked YORK BARBELL, 2.3 KG APPROX, 5 LB APPROX, and MADE IN CANADA. Small plates are marked YORK, 1.1 KG APPROX, 2.5 LB APPROX, BARBELL, and MADE IN CANADA.
Weight denominations: One barbell, two dumbbell bars, two 4.5 kg plates, six 2.3 kg plates, and two 1.1 kg plates.
Condition report:
The set is in used vintage condition. The vinyl casings on the plates show overall scuffing, surface scratches, and ground-in dirt from use. One of the 4.5 kg plates has a visible split along its outer perimeter seam. The metal bars show signs of surface oxidation and light rust, particularly at the ends and within the knurled grip sections. The red plastic collars remain functional, though they exhibit typical wear and minor discolouration.
