Description
This original oil painting by the British artist John Horsewell presents a minimalist coastal vista featuring two traditional wooden fishing boats on a wide, pale shoreline at low tide. The composition is defined by broad horizontal planes of colour, with a light cream foreground and a sky transitioning from a warm orange at the horizon into soft grey and blue atmospheric tones. Three seagulls are depicted in flight in the mid-ground. The artist uses smooth, blended strokes for the sky and beach, contrasting with textured impasto highlights on the boats and gulls to create focal points. The work is executed on an unframed, deep-edge gallery-wrapped stretched canvas. The signature in the lower right corner consists of the lowercase letters john positioned between two vertical lines, followed by the uppercase name HORSEWELL and a long horizontal line of small dashes.

Condition report:
The painting is in very good original condition. The canvas tension is taut and the paint surface is stable with no visible signs of flaking, cracking, or previous restoration. The edges of the canvas are clean and free from damage. No frame is included.
