Lot 26:
Description
This lot consists of two decorative weighted doorstops manufactured by Dora Designs. The first item is the Lionel Armstrong frog doorstop, depicted in a seated anthropomorphic pose. It is constructed from a green wool-effect felted fabric with lighter green fabric for the hands and feet. The figure features large amber-coloured plastic or glass eyes and is dressed in a yellow checkered waistcoat secured by two yellow plastic buttons. The second item is a tortoise doorstop in a seated position. It is crafted from an ochre-coloured suedette-style fabric with a shell made from a contrasting dark patterned brocade fabric. A corded tassel is tied around the neck. Both items carry the woven manufacturer’s label for dora DESIGNS. The tortoise includes an additional tag marked Doorstop and a white fabric care label stating Warning: This is not a Toy.
Condition report:
Both doorstops are in good, complete condition with no significant staining, tears, or fading to the fabrics. All decorative components, including the frog\'s waistcoat buttons and the tortoise\'s tassel, are present and secure. The manufacturer\'s labels remain intact and legible.
