Description
A collection of assorted vinyl records encompassing LPs and 12-inch singles across genres including classic rock, folk, indie, post-punk, ska, and soul. The lot includes several notable pressings and sealed reissues.
Classic rock highlights include a Pink Floyd Relics compilation LP on the Starline label, catalogue number SRS 5071, with a jacket featuring the characteristic ink drawing and an early pressing designation. Also present is the Pink Floyd Hits compilation on red vinyl. The folk section features a Fairport Convention picture disc titled Who Knows Where the Time Goes? with clock motifs. A group of three factory-sealed Bob Dylan reissues includes the titles Blood On The Tracks, Desire, and The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan.
The collection contains a significant ska and 2 Tone sub-group by the band Madness, including the Keep Moving LP (identified as a first pressing), and various 12-inch singles such as Tomorrow’s Just Another Day, Sweetest Girl, One Better Day, and multiple copies of Uncle Sam.
Alternative and indie titles include Thin White Rope Exploring The Axis, The Spizzles Spikey Dream Flowers, Gene Loves Jezebel Promise, and Split Enz. A limited edition double LP by Les Rallizes Dénudés, Heavier Than A Death In The Family, is present on 180g red coloured vinyl, released by Phoenix Records.
The soul, R&B, and jazz fusion selection features Soul II Soul Vol. II: A New Decade (first pressing), The Christians Colour, and Johnny Rivers Slim Slo Slider. Further LPs and singles represent artists such as Randy Crawford (multiple titles including Abstract Emotions and Windsong), The Crusaders (Street Life and Unsung Heroes), Joe Sample, Alexander O’Neal, Luther Vandross, Grace Jones, Karyn White, Ray Parker Jr., and Timi Yuro. One LP by R. Dean Taylor features the Tamla Motown and Sounds Superb labels.
The records are housed in card jackets, many within clear plastic protective sleeves, and feature various handwritten dealer stickers indicating pricing and grading.
Condition report:
Condition varies across the collection, with items graded by the previous owner between VG and New/Sealed. The three Bob Dylan titles remain factory sealed. The ZZ Top Tejas LP is noted to have a surface mark but is stated to play through. The Pink Floyd Relics jacket shows minor yellowing and edge wear consistent with a 1970s pressing. The Madness collection generally presents in VG to VG+ condition. Some jackets show evidence of shelf wear, light ring wear, and minor creasing to corners. Media has not been play-tested by the auction house but appears generally well-maintained.
