Lot 89:
Description
A Mirage model MIR-150 B-flat trumpet featuring a multi-tonal metal construction. The instrument consists of a yellow brass bell and body, a rose brass leadpipe, and nickel-silver or chrome-plated slides and valve casing trim. It is equipped with three top-action piston valves fitted with faux-pearl finger buttons. For intonation adjustment, the trumpet includes a thumb hook on the first-valve slide and a ring on the third-valve slide. Two water keys are present, located on the main tuning slide and the third-valve slide. The bell is engraved with the mirage brand mark in a mirrored font. The leadpipe receiver is stamped with the model number MIR-150. The instrument is offered without a mouthpiece or carrying case.
Condition report:
The instrument shows signs of regular use with visible lacquer wear throughout, particularly on the bell, leadpipe, and around the valve block. There are minor surface scratches and small areas of oxidation and pitting. Residue and tarnish are visible around the solder points and valve caps. The mechanical functionality of the valves and slides has not been tested.
