Description
A pair of contemporary dining chairs by the Italian manufacturer Calligaris, identified as the Romy CS1908 model. The chairs are upholstered in taupe-coloured leather. The backrests feature a distinctive single central button-tuft, which creates a radiating pleated effect across the leather surface. The seats and backrests are supported by slim, square-profile metal frames finished in a matte black coating. The manufacturer’s branding is clearly visible, including a small black fabric tag on the side of the seat embroidered with calligaris in lowercase letters. The underside of the chairs is finished with a grey dust cover featuring a repeating printed pattern of the Calligaris name.
Condition report:
The chairs exhibit significant signs of wear and use. There is noticeable surface cracking, abrasion, and loss of the topcoat finish on the leather seats, which is particularly pronounced on one chair. A horizontal indentation or crease is visible on the rear upholstery of one backrest. The metal frames show minor surface marks and scuffs consistent with age and regular use.
